Clubmembers, Last year, we found a document in the top floor attic, locked away with papers from the the early 1915's & 1920's.  One of the documents was a 1918 letter sign by then, Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Franklin D. Roosevelt. After researching the value of the document, we believe document is worth a considerable amount of money. http://www.historyforsale.com There are no known documents that resemble our letter but there is a thank you letter in response to a letter similar to ours (our letter is addressed to the BHYC), which the asking price is $12,999. (click above) If anyone would like to research the value of this document, please do so and contact John McCann with your findings. We have had the document cleaned and preserved and a copy of that letter now hangs in the club's bar area. But now there is debate over what we should do with the original letter, so we are asking the membership to decide the fate of our document.
